Chargers and Cyclers

The Multi Charger Mark 3 has been designed to charge nickel metal hydride and Nicad batteries in the workshop.
The multiple outputs are capable of charging six batteries with capacities in the range 100 mAHr to 4000 mAHr and cell counts in the range 1 to 10 cells. When batteries are connected the microprocessor starts a timed 14 hour charge (indicated by the led being on) at the completion of the timed charge maintenance mode is started (indicated by the led pulsing at a 1 second interval) this is designed to hold the battery in a fully charged state without over charging. If at any time the battery Is disconnected the microprocessor will start a new 14 hour charge. This unit contains a thermal switch to control the cooling fan this will switch on at 40 C and switch of at 25 C.

The Battery Master is a microcomputer controlled single output nicad charger, cycler and digital capacity meter combined into a single unit, plus an external power supply. Now upgraded to 400mA maximum charge rate. Most older units are upgradeable, call for details.The charging section is constant current type with the charging rate capable of being preset between 5 and 400ma, 1 to 10 cell packs, the pack size is preselected by the user, the discharge rate is pre-set to 300ma. The digital display will indicate the actual ma Hr's discharged during the cycle down, (maximum 9999 ma Hr's). Part discharged or fully charged batteries can be checked.
Connections are via 2.5mm power plugs (two supplied). The power requirement for the Battery Master is 17v AC via an external power pack supplied with the unit.

The Dual Cycler is designed to discharge 8-cell transmitter packs and 4-cell receiver packs to a nominal 1.1v per cell. It will then automatically switch over to your standard battery charger. On the front panel are two push buttons to start the cycle and two discharging indicators. All connections are via internal screw block connectors. Please note that some transmitters are protected by a blocking diode (reverse polarity protection), this means that the battery cannot be cycled whilst fitted within the transmitter. Where possible, the pack should be removedand cycled externally.
